Dr. Jhaimy Fernandez is a Family Medicine Physician and a recognized leader in digital health equity, committed to expanding access to digital health technologies in underserved communities. As the inaugural Digital Health Equity Lead at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Fernandez spearheaded transformative initiatives that dramatically increased the adoption of video visits. She is the co-founder of Alma First: Digital Connection, Human Touch, an organization empowering pre-health students as Alma First Fellows to act as digital navigators. Through their efforts, they assist vulnerable communities in utilizing telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and continuous glucose monitors to improve health outcomes. Dr. Fernandez also serves as an external clinical advisor for the UCSF Department of Family Medicine, The Sparrow Fund, Cepanoa Health, and the PRISM Symposium. Currently, she holds the position of Associate Medical Director of Digital Health at AltaMed, where she leads strategic workforce development and communication initiatives to advance digital health literacy and utilization in underserved populations.
