It is ensuring that innovation reaches the communities it is designed to serve. In Los Angeles and beyond, we’re seeing the reality of climate change and shifting priorities hit home. Whether it’s the wildfires affecting our neighbors in California or the growing difficulty for founders to find early funding, the systems we rely on are being tested. The wildfires that impacted communities across California are just one example of how these intersecting challenges are testing infrastructure, health systems, and economic resilience.
These moments call for more than short-term responses. They require coordinated, long-term solutions that connect science, capital, and community. At Larta Institute, this is where we operate.
For over three decades, we have worked to ensure that science and technology serve the public good. Today, that work has evolved. Larta is building the infrastructure that enables innovation to move from research to deployment, supporting entrepreneurs, strengthening ecosystems, and mobilizing capital to bring solutions into real-world use.
In 2025, Larta supported 300 enterprises, through 10 specialized commercialization assistance programs, helping mobilize more than $2.2 billion in follow-on funding across climate resilience, health, food systems, and sustainable infrastructure.
This report reflects that work in action—from national commercialization programs toplace-based initiatives like Venture Fellows and Heal.LA, and global partnerships through Global Bridge. Together, these efforts form a connected system designed to translate innovation into impact.
10 ventures advanced solutions across energy systems, sustainable materials, and urban resilience through the 2025 Venture Fellows program, with a strong focus on pilot readiness and real-world deployment.
4 companies progressed solutions across digital health, diagnostics, and care delivery, focused on improving access and outcomes in underserved communities across Los Angeles
300 companies were supported through Larta’s federal programs, advancing science- driven innovations from early-stage research toward commercialization and deployment.
What comes next depends on what we build together.
Across sectors, the need for solutions is clear. The opportunity now is to accelerate how those solutions are deployed, scaled, and sustained in the communities they are designed to serve.
Larta works across partners, funders, and institutions to translate innovation into real- world impact. This work is inherently collaborative and requires aligned effort across ecosystems.
We invite those committed to advancing science and technology for the public good to engage with us, whether through partnership, investment, or implementation.
Together, we can move from progress to impact at scale.
